The great fetish debate....
I have asked this question before but i am still absolutely befuddled and amazed by the very idea of fetishes and how they come about. I am not sure i have any actual fetish unless you count being naughty and naked in public a fetish, although i guess i do like to pee on people too so i suppose i kind of have a fetish! It is not something that consumes me and isn't necessary for me to become turned on so can that still be classed as a fetish?
I know of lots of male friends who have a thing for certain parts of the female body but that also is not a fetish in my book. A fetish is described as being a fixation with any non genital part of the human body and which elicits an habitual erotic response in that person when faced with said part. Since we started Feetseekers i have met many male foot fetishists but am yet to meet a female one. Now, I am sure they exist but is there a reason that the foot becomes erotic for the male of the species and not the female? Is it more to do with circumstance or something we are born with? Why do some people like soles and others the arch? What is it about dirty feet that turns some people on?
I read a book recently on a psychiatrist who was treating someone to help them overcome sever anxieties. He hypnotised his client and was able to regress her into past lives and discovered lots of things that could be the cause of her fears in her present life. It's quite a spiritual book and talks about reincarnation of sorts but it got me thinking about a few things...one of them being the possibility that fetishes are carried on from previous lives. So perhaps something erotic happened in a past life that involved feet (maybe a time when women walked around barefoot and roads etc were dusty)...could that explain the attraction of some to dirty feet? It's just one of many theories i have and the questions are endless but i would love to hear from anyone who has explanations for any of them or if you have your own idea of what a fetish is and where it comes from.
In the meantime if you are not sure whether you have a penchant for feet....dirty or otherwise, see if this gives you the horn:

Enjoy!
